Review : I wanted to love this beautiful thing but it broke my heart
Unfortunately I have had two of these devices fail on me in a very short period of time. My first hard drive crashed in the middle of an episode I was watching from it. After that it was not recognised by my computer again. The light still came on but it made some horrible noises. I contacted Buffalo as it was within its warranty. They took a long time to get back to me to tell me they required proof of purchase etc. They then issued me with a Product Return Form which I sent to Amazon who provided me with a replacement. Buffalo said they could not help me in trying to recover any of the valuable data I had lost as a result of a faulty product. I was unable to try and recover it my self as I would invalidate my warranty.
Amazon were brilliant in their communication with me and were quick to get a replacement model to me even before I had sent the failed drive back to them. I put it down to bad luck and decided to try again. After a few weeks (and a lot of time trying to...
