Review : excellent for Mac backup
Before buying, I checked the brand as I was not familiar with it and I discovered that Best Media - the manufacturer for Platinum MyDrive, is a German company who is quite popular in Europe and it offers a 2 years warranty for their hard drives. Counting on the german reputation for perfection, I decided to just buy it and see how it works. I did not try it on a Windows system so I cannot comment on that but I used it for my Mac for back up. When first connected to my Mac, it did behave like a USB memory stick. It was easy to format it and use it immediately. When backing up, it was so silent that I had to touch it and feel the vibrations to know that it works, without looking at my screen. I think it was really fast considering that it did its first back up of a 250Gb hard drive in approx. 15 min.
