To augment the frugal storage capacity of my geriatric Mac Mini and to avoid prising the poor thing open to upgrade the existing drive and risking exposure to my clumsy fingers, I opted to give one of these a try.

It arrived in a small, plain cardboard box and the device is indeed small, although it's not really much different to most other passport sized external drives. The unit itself is reasonably well constructed, the carapace is plastic with aluminum rear and face plates. There are fixing screws at the sides which suggests that you should be able to swap out the drive relatively easily if it ever failed in the future. The rear plate features the mini-USB port, a power port (redundant in my case) and two LED activity indicators. The box contains all the leads you'll need and a user manual is supplied on a mini-DVD. I believe the disk also contains drivers for Windows 98 users.
