Review : Works well and easy to use
Having read the other reviews for this product I was reasonable confident about buying it. Actually I bought two, one for me and one for my daughter.
I wanted a reliable external drive with plenty of space to just sit and act as a backup for my iMAC using TimeMachine. I am not a heavy user, nor do I 'enjoy' playing about with stuff trying to see how it works. I just wanted plug and play with no more worries.
One you plug the drive in to your MAC,you click on the set up icon which then lets you choose how much space you want to partition using a slider. I selected 80% MAC only and 20% FAT32. The FAT32 option gives me the opportunity to save data that can be retrieved by either PC or MAC. (All this is explained).
It then whirred away for a bit and within minutes (or was it seconds) it was ready for me to set as my TimeMachine backup disk.
It took a while for the full backup to complete the first time, but still much quicker than the previous drive I was using...
