Review : A good harddrive - until it dies.
I've bought a freecom toughdrive some 2 years ago (approx..) - not exactly this model (just 500MB, 2 years old) and I really like the size of it. The rubber seems to make it quite sturdy as well.

The first problem was the cable.. Firewire - very fast, but then... at first it would work just once in a while, until it completely stopped working. The flexible cable apparently wasn't as flexible as it was supposed to be.

From now on I had to use the separate USB cable, which is fine, but a bit more complicated, as you always have to remember to take it with you. Nowadays I sometimes even have problems to get a connection via the USB cable - and if I do manage to get to my data, I've got a frightening "clack-clack-clack" noise. You all know what this means..

I'm now switching to Western Digital and am just glad I haven't lost any data (I usually keep a backup of my backup. better safe then sorry.)
